Jack is currently working on the publication of his doctoral dissertation, Images, objects and imperial power in the Roman and Qin-Han Empires as a book.

Current research interests: Visual and artefactual manifestations of status and power; the concept of the monument; Rome-China comparative studies; ancient visual culture; comparative archaeology; comparative world history; Qin Dynasty China; the terracotta army; Han Dynasty China; the Roman Principate; the Flavian Dynasty; imperial studies; heraldry.
